About Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of Booneville is a dedicated group of local leaders, business owners, educators, retirees, and community volunteers proudly serving Booneville and South Logan County as part of Rotary International. Our club (chartered in the Missouri-Arkansas District, likely District 6110) has long been committed to the Rotary motto "Service Above Self," focusing on community service, youth development, international outreach, and fellowship while making lasting positive impacts in our rural Arkansas hometown.
We serve Booneville—a historic community founded around 1828 as one of the oldest towns in western Arkansas, originally settled near the Petit Jean River in the Arkansas River Valley and now home to approximately 3,800 people. Nestled in the foothills of Mount Magazine State Park—the state's highest point at 2,753 feet—and surrounded by the natural beauty of the Ouachita Mountains, our town offers a peaceful rural lifestyle enriched by outdoor recreation, family farms, small businesses, local schools, healthcare facilities, churches, youth programs, and community events. In this setting, where unpredictable weather, winding rural roads, agricultural operations, and the everyday needs of families, youth, and residents shape daily life, a service organization like ours is vital for supporting education, health initiatives, youth leadership, community beautification, and local causes—bringing together neighbors to give back, build relationships, and strengthen Booneville through volunteerism and generosity.
The Rotary Club of Booneville specializes in a range of service projects and activities tailored to our local rural community:
- Youth Programs and Scholarships: Supporting youth through leadership development, scholarships, and programs like Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) or Interact/Interact clubs when active locally—helping young people build skills, confidence, and global awareness.
- Community Service and Beautification: Participating in local improvement projects, such as downtown Booneville beautification efforts, clean-ups, park enhancements, or support for community anchors—collaborating with the chamber, city officials, and other groups to enhance our town's appeal and livability.
- Fundraisers and Events: Hosting or joining events like meetings with guest speakers, social gatherings, and fundraisers to raise resources for local and international Rotary causes (e.g., polio eradication, disaster relief, or literacy programs).
- Health and Humanitarian Efforts: Contributing to Rotary's global initiatives (like eradicating polio) while focusing locally on health screenings, food drives, or support for community needs—often partnering with other organizations for maximum impact.
- Fellowship and Leadership: Regular meetings (typically weekly, e.g., Wednesdays—check current details via Facebook or contacts) for networking, planning service projects, and building friendships among dedicated locals.
The benefits of our club's work extend throughout Booneville and South Logan County:
- Local Impact: Projects directly benefit our community—whether through youth support, beautification, or aid during challenges—amplifying the spirit of service in our rural area.
- Inclusive Membership: We welcome professionals and community members from all backgrounds who share a desire to serve—no prior experience needed, just a commitment to making a difference.
- Global Reach with Hometown Focus: As part of Rotary International (with over 1.2 million members worldwide), we connect local efforts to broader causes while prioritizing Booneville's unique needs.
- Networking and Fellowship: Meetings and events foster strong relationships among members and the community, creating opportunities for collaboration and support.
Affiliated with Rotary International and part of the district covering northwestern Arkansas and nearby states, the Booneville Rotary Club remains dedicated to service, leadership, and fellowship. From presenting leadership transitions (like welcoming new presidents) to supporting beautification and youth, we're invested in Booneville's future.
We meet regularly and invite visitors or new members—follow updates, view photos of projects and events, or connect via our Facebook page Contact club members through the page, the South Logan County Chamber of Commerce, or local directories for meeting times (often at a Booneville venue like a restaurant or community spot) and how to get involved. Whether you're a business owner, educator, retiree, or someone passionate about community service, join us in making Booneville even better—one project, one meeting, one act of service at a time.
Serving Booneville with "Service Above Self" is at the heart of who we are—because when neighbors come together to help, our rural community grows stronger, more connected, and more vibrant under these Ouachita skies.
