For many years, LCDSC has been a trusted community resource, providing essential day services, education, and support to children and adults who face intellectual, physical, or developmental challenges. Our mission is to collaborate with families, schools, and local partners to deliver high-quality, individualized programs that promote independence, skill-building, inclusion, and overall well-being in a nurturing, supportive environment.

We serve Booneville—a historic community founded around 1828 as one of the oldest towns in western Arkansas, originally settled near the Petit Jean River in the Arkansas River Valley and now home to approximately 3,800 people. Nestled in the foothills of Mount Magazine State Park—the state's highest point at 2,753 feet—and surrounded by the natural beauty of the Ouachita Mountains, our town offers a peaceful rural lifestyle enriched by outdoor recreation, family farms, small businesses, local schools, healthcare facilities, churches, youth programs, and community events. In this setting, where unpredictable weather, winding rural roads, agricultural operations, and the everyday needs of families—including those with members who have disabilities—shape daily life, accessible day services and developmental support are essential for helping individuals thrive, participate in community activities, build life skills, and achieve greater independence while easing the burden on families and caregivers.

At Logan County Day Service Center, we specialize in comprehensive day services and educational programs tailored to the unique needs of our clients with developmental disabilities, intellectual challenges, or physical limitations:

  • Day Habilitation and Skill Development: Structured daily activities focused on building life skills, social interaction, communication, self-care, community integration, and vocational readiness. Programs emphasize independence, confidence, and meaningful engagement for both children and adults.
  • Educational and Therapeutic Support: Individualized instruction and therapies (including collaboration with schools and specialists) to support cognitive, motor, sensory, and adaptive development. We work closely with families and educators to align services with each person's goals and IEP/IFSP plans when applicable.
  • Adult Services: Ongoing support for adults with disabilities, including work readiness training, community outings, recreational activities, and daily routines that promote productivity, socialization, and quality of life in a rural setting.
  • Child-Focused Programs: Specialized care and early intervention-style activities for younger individuals, helping develop foundational skills in a safe, engaging environment that complements school or home-based services.
  • Community Integration and Inclusion Efforts: Opportunities for clients to participate in local events, outings, volunteering, and interactions that foster belonging and reduce isolation—key in our close-knit rural community.

The benefits of choosing LCDSC include:

  • Personalized, Compassionate Care: Every program is customized to the individual's strengths, interests, abilities, and goals, delivered by caring staff who build trusting relationships and prioritize dignity, respect, and fun.
  • Family-Centered Approach: We partner closely with parents, guardians, and siblings, offering support, resources, respite opportunities, and open communication to ensure services meet the whole family's needs.
  • Local Accessibility and Convenience: Located at 1234 East Main Street in Booneville (easy to reach for families across South Logan County), our center operates Monday through Friday during standard daytime hours, providing reliable, consistent support without long commutes.
  • Nonprofit Commitment and Community Focus: As a 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 71-0428093) with a strong track record of service, we reinvest all resources into programs, maintain high standards (including background checks and qualifications for staff), and collaborate with local entities like schools, the chamber, churches, and other service providers to maximize impact.
  • Positive Outcomes and Recognition: Our work helps clients achieve greater independence, improved skills, stronger social connections, and enhanced quality of life—contributing to a more inclusive Booneville where everyone has the chance to participate fully.

LCDSC remains deeply rooted in Booneville, where we've supported generations of families facing developmental challenges. We're proud to be part of a community that values neighborly support, and we continue to adapt our services to meet evolving needs—whether through daily programming, special events, or advocacy for better resources in rural Arkansas.

Our center is open and welcoming: visit us at 1234 East Main Street, Booneville, AR 72927, or reach out via our Facebook page (LCDSC) for updates, inquiries, referrals, volunteer opportunities, or to learn more about enrollment and services.
